We are halfway through the week! I am ready for our Valentine’s Party Friday! I wanted to write a quick post to share this awesome free assessment resource or test practice for Reading/ELA.
I found this website a few years ago by chance. It is a Texas website that is used to help students achieve on standardized assessments. It is an old website that is not updated with the new TEKS standards, however the skill sheets are still useful. The skills vary from language skills to reading skills and several printables are available for download. I am thinking these work will for the following:
- Tutoring Groups on Specific Reading Skills
- Substitute Resources
- Parents requesting extra homework.
Click here to check the website out and see for yourself if it may be useful to you and your students.
Not only does it have a variety of assessments or practice tests per skill, but it also has a pre-test and a post test available for each skill.
All you have to do is click on the link and it will pull up a window with the assessment. Here is a snapshot of one of the inferencing assessments.
I just copy and paste the entire assessment over into a Word document. I have used these for assessments, skills groups, independent practice, modeling, even homework! Some are better than others, and some may not match how the skill is assessed in your state. But, overall it is an awesome resource that hopefully you will find as useful as I do!
