Since I started blogging three years ago, I have received many questions about my 5th grade math pacing guide. I finally decided to type up a shareable copy with my rationale and reasons. This pacing guide is aligned with 5th grade math common core standards. You can find my literacy pacing guide by clicking here.
Below you will find images of the two page pacing guide. At the very end of this post is a link to a downloadable version of the pacing guide. In the pacing guide, I did not include actual dates so this can be referred to year after year. Instead of dates, I included the time frame I typically use when teaching particular math skills. This does vary from year to year depending on my students and their particular needs. The pacing guide includes the skill with the common core standard with which the skill correlates.
In addition to the time frame and sequence of skills, I also included my rationale for teaching the skill at that point in the year. For some skills, I provide information in regards to how I present the skills as well. There are a few hyperlinks which you can click on in the downloadable pdf. One link that you will definitely want to check out is my specific fraction pacing guide, which can be found here.
